Car Bottom Furnaces
Car Bottom Furnaces
Car Bottom Furnaces (bogie hearth furnaces) are high-capacity industrial furnace systems designed to subject large-volume and heavy parts to heat treatment processes such as annealing, normalizing, stress relief, hardening, and similar treatments under a controlled or open atmosphere.
In these systems, the furnace hearth is designed as a “transport bogie” that moves on rails. The part loading process is carried out outside the furnace, and once loading is complete, the bogie is moved into the furnace to start the process. This design ensures the safe transport of high-tonnage loads and allows for more efficient use of the furnace’s internal volume.
Car Bottom Furnaces are particularly preferred for castings, steel structures, large molds, forged parts, and heavy industrial components. Thanks to homogeneous temperature distribution, a controlled heating curve, and an optimized combustion system, consistent metallurgical results are achieved throughout the entire load.
Acar Teknolojik Sistemler designs its cart-based furnaces according to each facility’s production flow, part geometry, and capacity requirements. The systems can be configured with electric, natural gas, or multi-fuel burner systems, and energy efficiency can be enhanced with optional recuperative combustion technology.
Thanks to the PLC-based automation system, temperature zones are controlled independently, heating curves can be programmed, and all process data is recorded to ensure production repeatability.
